Terms of Service — Transitou

Last updated: October 2026

Draft. This is a working draft covering the real behaviour of the app. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before it governs real bookings or is linked from a live store listing.

These Terms govern your use of the Transitou mobile application ("Transitou", "we", "us"). By creating an account or making a booking, you agree to them.

1. What Transitou is

Transitou is a booking and coordination platform. We connect you with independent airport and railway service providers ("Operators") — porter and Red Cap services, luggage storage, and cab coordination. Operators, and the porters they employ or contract, are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, or contractors of Transitou, and Transitou does not itself carry your luggage, store your bags, or drive your cab.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in and device PIN secure, and for the accuracy of the name, phone number, and other details you provide — Operators use your name to identify you at the pickup point.

3. Bookings, pricing, and changes

01
Price shown before you confirm

The full price — including any Transitou booking fee — is shown before you confirm a booking. Nothing changes on arrival.

02
Changes before acceptance

While a booking is still waiting for an Operator to accept it, you can change the details — including luggage, travellers, and pickup — and the price updates accordingly.

03
Changes after acceptance

Once an Operator has accepted your booking, you can still change the time and your notes, or cancel. Other details are locked in, since the Operator has already planned around them.

04
Cancellation

You can cancel an active booking from within the app at any time before it's completed.

4. Payment

Transitou does not currently process payment inside the app. Any charge for the underlying service — the porter's work, the storage fee, the cab fare — is arranged directly with the Operator providing it, as described at the time of booking. This section will be updated, and you will be notified, before in-app payment is introduced.

5. Accessibility and mobility information

If you add accessibility or mobility details to a booking — a wheelchair, walker, or a request for lift assistance — we share that information with the Operator handling your booking, solely so they can assist you appropriately. You're never required to provide this information.

6. Your conduct

You agree to provide accurate booking details, to be reasonably available at the agreed pickup point or time, and not to use Transitou to harass Operators or porters. We may suspend an account that's used abusively or fraudulently.

7. Our role and liability

Transitou coordinates the booking; it does not supervise the Operator's staff or control how they perform the service. To the extent permitted by law, Transitou is not liable for the acts, omissions, delays, or quality of service of an Operator or its porters — your agreement for the underlying service is with them. We are liable for our own conduct as the platform: accurately presenting the booking, routing it to the Operator you selected, and showing you its true status.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be announced in the app.

9. Operators

If you're an Operator using the Transitou dispatcher console, your use is also governed by a separate Operator agreement provided during onboarding.
